Come join the group of passionate engineers enabling programmable Infrastructure Processing Units (IPU) with lead customers in Ethernet Customer Solutions (ECS) within Intels Ethernet Products Group (EPG). EPG is responsible for delivering leadership Ethernet solutions for Intel's Network and Edge Group (NEX).

Intel has a proven track record of technology innovation as the leading network controller and adapter provider. We are bringing our technology expertise in network virtualization, packet processing, storage services, and cryptographic data protection to creating a new class of IPU products. The IPU accelerates host networking functions and is adaptable to existing and emerging use cases including security, virtualization, storage, load balancing, and data path optimization. 

 Together with our customers we will enable these capabilities, allowing our customers to improve isolation, security, performance, with simplified system management. The individual will work directly with Tier 1 Server OEMs, leading cloud service providers, and Intels development teams to help create customized solutions that meet our customers needs using the IPU. They will play crucial role in driving architecture and implementation of the lifecycle tools and solutions for Intel Infrastructure Processing Unit (Intel IPU) that meet our customers' needs and bring our IPU products to market with higher quality, robust update processes and reduced downtime.

Projects and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Consult with cloud datacenter architects and customer design teams to understand their requirements for IPUs.  Collaborate with Intel teams to architect solutions that meets cloud service providers needs.
  • Work with technical writers to develop and publish technical documentation (Application Notes, programmers guides, datasheets,  white papers, technical advisories etc.) for Intel cloud service providers and industry partners.
  • Manage field escalations and drive issue debug and resolution collaborating with engineering teams, industry partners, and leading Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).
  • Lead regular quality reviews that focus on performance trends, quality issues, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate to and regularly interact with senior management, highlighting risks across functional teams and providing recommendations to support product level decisions.

You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 9 plus years of experience, OR Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 6 plus years of experience. OR PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 4 plus years experience in addition to:

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of experience with direct customer engagement on design/implementation/enabling of Cloud solutions.
  • 5 plus years of experience with current computer networking architecture, protocols, topologies, and networking products.
  • 5 plus years of experience system level server network debug experience involving hardware, software, and/or firmware.
  • 5 plus years of experience in software development.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Ethernet product and ecosystem for Enterprise and Data center.
  • General system level experience in P4 and/or DPDK Software Development environment.
  • Involved previously in driver, networking stack or infrastructure development on Linux, Windows and/or ESX Operating systems.
  • Experience implementing datacenter storage, packet processing, and/or RDMA technology.
  • System Admin or Network Admin-level experience in highly scaled datacenter workloads (ex: databases, load balancers, web servers, switch configuration).
  • Experience with programming languages; operating systems; firmware; BIOS; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities.
  •  Experience with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and secure software development infrastructure like DevOps.
  • Stay versed in open-source community work, and participates in the discussions of software development cycle from concept to release.
