We want a policy focused problem solver who will work with policy makers, our internal recycling team and our compliance teams to re-envision a world where products at the end of their lives can be thought of as a resource for future use, and not waste.

Given the global nature of supply chains, achieving this ambition requires a combination of navigating global logistics, supply chains and policy challenges. Apple is looking for an environmental policy specialist to help develop campaigns and strategies to influence lawmakers and regulators and to also coordinate work among internal teams.

Key Qualifications

  • 10 years of working to advocate for governmental policies or within government on policy development in areas of: resource efficiency, circular economy, environmental protection, trade/ customs, international environmental cooperation or other relevant areas.
  • Understanding of global supply chains and environmental regulations relating to waste shipment.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team.
  • Deep understanding of NGO/ Civil society landscape and experience in developing allies and expanding the tent.
  • Experience working with trade associations / think tanks to further the conversation.

Description

Work with cross functional teams to manage Apple's public policy on resource recovery and waste shipment issues, as well as broader circular economy strategy.

Develop an external policy strategy, including identifying strategic forums and audiences to influence policies that could enable Apple's goal of a closed loop supply chain.

Execute engagements in identified forums and build relationships with key partners

Work with internal and external partners to develop studies, communication assets and technical reports in support of policy innovation

Work across various Apple closed loop initiatives to maintain policy consistency across regions and topics.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
