Job Description

Seeking a Software Architect to join CCG's Chrome and Linux system architecture group. In this role you will shape the future of Intel's Chrome system software and ecosystem for an increasingly cloud centric world. In this role you will work across business groups, customers, and platform integration teams to originate requirements, derive architecture for key use cases, align goals, conduct analyses, and create proof of concept projects. You should have a broad technical foundation and be able to lead efforts for native and cloud applications and infrastructure, operating system software, and systems with the ability to identify opportunities for product leadership and innovation. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment is necessary.

Deep understanding of open source software development, and process for submitting and maintaining open source code are core to this role. Familiarity with cloud architecture including virtual machines, containers, and security architecture are highly desirable. As a technical leader communication and influence are critical aspects to drive successful software initiatives and products. Experience presenting technical concepts to customers, executives, and in conferences will be important. You will need to scope and execute proof of concepts and technology readiness assessments that lead to product.

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in CE, CS or similar STEM degree

10+ years of industry experience.

2+ years of hands on software architecture with experience defining requirements

4+ years of open source software development experience

2+ years of experience with one or more of the following:

  • Web applications, PWAs, and application development design and support

  • OS software, containers, VMs, and, system definition

  • Android, Linux or ChromeOS development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher in CE, CS or similar STEM degree

  • 5+ years of SW architecture experience

  • 10+ years of open source software development experience

  • 2+ years of experience with deploying cloud applications
