As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you'll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Joining this group means you'll be responsible for crafting and building the technology that fuels Apple's devices. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices.

As a member of our CAD team, you will architect, develop, maintain and enhance AMS simulation methodology and solutions for our Analog, RF and mixed-signal designs. The role requires you to work with different technology nodes and provide flows/methodologies for the different tool sets. You will be collaborating with the analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design teams. You will drive and coordinate efforts to develop and validate AMS/co-simulation flows, enhancing custom design environment, validating checks and doing results analysis.

Key Qualifications

  • Proficient in using industry mixed-signal simulation tools, including but not limited to Cadence - AMS Designer, Incisive/Xcelium/SimVision, Virtuoso AMS-in-ADE; Synopsys - XA, VCS, Verdi; Mentor - Symphony, Questa.
  • The ability to solve simulation accuracy, speed and capacity issues.
  • A strong understanding of VerilogA, RTLs - Verilog/AMS, SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with AMS techniques - Techniques: Discipline resolution, binding, IE setup, CR/CM, AMSD block, wreal, TCL probe.
  • Understanding of custom IC designs, and knowledge of Post-layout extraction.
  • Understanding behavioral models for AMS/EM circuits, experience in Verilog- A/AMS.
  • Programming skills in TCL, Python, SKILL language, Perl, or Shell.
  • Knowledge in Virtuoso Schematic Editor, PDK, CDF, Callbacks, Netlisting, Virtuoso Analog Design Environment (ADE-L/XL/GXL/Maestro) is desirable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams.

Description
- Directly influence the advancement of a variety of technology nodes and develop/support flows on analog circuit topology and electrical rule checks.
- Drive and oversee efforts developing and validating custom circuit checker flows, improving custom design environment, validating checks and doing results analysis as you partner with layout design, technology, and 3rd party EDA tool vendors.
- Solving AMS (Analog-Mixed Signal) simulation design and modeling issues related to circuits, thereby influencing the advancement of a variety of technology.
- Ability to work on circuit topology identification, recognition, netlist tracing to find design issues while developing internal solutions.
- Experience in AMS co-simulations on circuits and/or related CAD/automation support areas involving various technology nodes, custom IC designs and tape out.

Education & Experience

BS/ MS / PhD in a technical field is preferred.
