Business Operations Specialist, Counterintelligence - Active Security Clearance Required

We have an opening for a Business Operations Specialist, Counterintelligence to support the administrative and operational day-to-day functions of the Counterintelligence Program. This position will support the Lead Business Operations Specialist and will participate in business, workforce, and operations planning; assist in developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures.

This position is in the Counterintelligence Program within the Director's Office.

In this role you will

  • Assist in the oversight of a variety of workforce, operational and organizational requirements and activities for the Program on administrative matters.
  • Participate and assist in the implementation of business, operational and/or organizational strategies, objectives, and deliverables, prepare responses for requests for information.
  • Coordinate and administer a variety of personnel/recruiting related activities for the Program, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Serve as a resource for the Program on self-assessment, audit teams, or work-related committees and participant in or lead projects to assess, set, and establish protocol and procedures.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret business, operational and/or organizational planning data in support of strategic and/or workforce planning activities for the Program.
  • Collect and organize a variety of reports for management decision making.
  • Review a variety of documentation for adherence to policy and ensure consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at time of hire. Also, you must have the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Please note that your current active Q or Top Secret clearance with DOE or another agency does not guarantee DOE SCI access approval; if you are denied access, you may be subject to reinvestigation of your existing Q or Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience coordinating administrative and operational work activities and multifaceted internal processes in functional area.
  • Experience participating in business, operational and/or organizational activities and representing management to diverse internal and external contacts, communicating manager's direction.
  • Operational knowledge of federal or government oversight industry practices with experience applying analytical and research skills; experience developing and making recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills, including detail orientation, flexibility and experience independently coordinating and prioritizing multiple and complex work activities, often with conflicting deadlines. Ability to work effectively with short deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Experience interacting with all levels of personnel exercising a high degree of discretion, mature judgment, and tact in handling issues of a sensitive nature. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills necessary to explain/present to, and in some cases direct and influence others.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers and associated software including MS Office applications and experience developing complex reports for use in management decision making.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of extensive experience and education in a related business, operational and/or organizational area.
  • Understanding of principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures, and state and federal laws. Knowledge and understanding of HR compliance requirements for personnel administration (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.)

Security Clearance

LLNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Laboratory. Some positions will require a DOE L or Q clearance (please reference Security Clearance requirement above).
