We have an opening for a Business Analyst to support our work on Global Material Security (GMS). As an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, you will support LLNL Principal Investigators, NNSA, and other sponsors by planning, tracking, analyzing and reporting on activities pertaining to GMS projects. This position is in the GMS Group of the Global Security Principal Directorates Nuclear Threat Reduction (N) Program.
Essential Duties
- Gather GMS program/portfolio/project information and conduct analysis of processes and workflow; make recommendations, formulate and define scope and objective to enhance business functions.
- Extract and analyze GMS program/portfolio/project data to include financial (funding, costs, and resource loads) and technical (tasks, schedules and delivery).
- Facilitate the definition of end-to-end process goals and documents findings interacting with internal PIs, team members and managers.
- Deliver reports to technical team, management and sponsors throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Provide specialist-level functional knowledge in Excel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
In Addition, at the E01.3 Level
- Develop alternative workflow approaches, practices and procedures for process improvements and management efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies for addressing sponsor process gaps, including processes that cross functions; monitor the progress and impact of changes by working as a liaison between sponsor and technical staff.
- Perform complex analysis tasks independently, working towards goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in business administration, information management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for purposes of documenting functional needs and constraints.
- Extensive knowledge of resource management tools and experience applying related practices, standards and processes.
- Experience providing support in the development and implementation of specialized reporting requests.
- Ability to communicate clear expectations on project and process activities and lead the facilitation of functional business processes.
- Significant experience analyzing data in Excel.
In Addition, at the E01.3 Level
- Experience in analysis and design of complex business processes; designing and implementing strategies for complex improvements.
- Experience applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to practical business outlooks such as forecasting, cost/benefit analysis, and trending.
- Ability to communicate effectively; prepare and present business process strategies and plans to all levels of management.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Global Security-N Program.
- Familiarity with LLNL business applications and processes.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note: This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
