Role Number:200243792

In RE&D, we don't sit back and let things happen, we make things happen, and we do this in service to all Apple employees and customers. Our team is a diverse and flexible group that manages Apple's workplaces and workplace services. We develop and run Apple's global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world.

Conference & Production Services is a diverse and nimble team that operates Apple's Campus Conference Centers and produces internally streamed events. We're seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer/Production Technician with great communication skills and a can-do attitude to support a screening room, theater spaces, and high-touch conference rooms in Santa Clara Valley. Do you have deep engineering experience with critical viewing environments, LED walls, and live events? If so, come and do your life's best work at Apple!

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience as a broadcast, video, or facility engineer in production environments (e.g., studios, networks, broadcast trucks, or post production facilities).
  • Expertise operating LEDs, image processors, and other screening room technology to showcase content (e.g. movies, television shows, and Keynote presentations) in critical viewing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with content creation and post production workflows, including knowledge of common recording and playback formats and standards.
  • Strong color measurement and calibration skills, with ability to provide supporting data reports.
  • Background in system design, with ability to create CAD plans and documentation.
  • Highly proficient in identifying and resolving operational errors, with strong experience in signal routing, monitoring, and quality assurance.
  • Well-rounded production experience with ability to assist in different areas (e.g. prior experience as an audio engineer, lighting technician, camera operator, editor, or other operator roles).
  • Superior communication skills, with an ability to summarize and share relevant information in a clear and easy-to-understand way, across all levels. You skillfully communicate with creatives and executives to develop trust and strong partnerships.
  • Strong vendor management and project management skills.
  • Track record delivering high-quality results, with minimal direction, in an environment where expectations are high and timelines are challenging. You multi-task and establish priorities, including daily re-prioritization, and don't need to be reminded to follow-up and follow-through.
  • Able to remain flexible and prepared for changes to the schedule, including working early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Act with a sense or urgency and quickly responds to emails, texts, and phone calls in order to provide a high standard of service to customers and colleagues.

Description

You'll operate screening room technology to support creatives, executives, and guests in our specialty space. You'll take complete ownership to ensure content is properly presented and provide high-touch customer service. During down time, you'll perform preventative maintenance and calibrate systems to guarantee optimum performance.

When not actively engaged with screenings and room maintenance, you'll perform in a hybrid role, relying on your diverse production experience, to support the team. This includes providing broadcast engineering support in campus theaters, cross-training to perform in other operator roles, and providing high-touch AV support in conference rooms, depending on the needs of the day.

You'll also keep documents updated (e.g., line drawings, standard operating procedures, and service agreements) and assist with system design and specification of gear for various projects.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred.
