Job Description

Join us in our mission to enable breakthrough innovations for cloud computing in Intels Data Platform Engineering and Architecture group (DPEA). As a BIOS/UEFI development engineer you will be responsible for working with Intels customers and some of the worlds largest Cloud Service Providers by understanding their BIOS requirement challenges and future innovations. Then by working with both internal and external partners you will architect and help implement solutions while along the way gaining invaluable experience into the inner workings of servers and how they are scaled for Big Data and cloud customers.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify BIOS/UEFI firmware related issues and debug during the planning development and validation stages of the projects.

  • Partner closely with OEM, ODM and IBV customers and internal stakeholders to enable BIOS for Intels latest technology roadmap initiatives.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or closely related field.

Minimum Qualifications

4+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Programming in C

  • Basic Input Output System BIOS and/or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface UEFI

  • X86, PC, and/or Server architecture and operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Latest IA chipset features such as security, RAS, and PCIe

  • Industry standard software engineering processes, principles, and project life cycles

  • Working externally with customers

  • Debugging PC or Server platforms

  • Integrating reference code and or platform support

  • Assembly language and Python scripting

  • Git SVN and Perforce

  • BMC server management features
