Looking for hardworking, passionate and results-oriented individuals to join our team to build data foundations and tools to craft the future of commerce and Apple Pay. You will build scalable, extensible tools to compute and ingest large variety of data tapping into various sources, that will enable impactful insights & strategy for payment products. DevOps engineer with a background in large scale data platform support, that will play a meaningful role in building and managing platforms to reduce barriers, decrease friction and speed up delivery of products for our data analytics team.

Working with the head of Wallet Payments & Commerce Data Engineering & BI, this person will collaborate with various infrastructure teams, data engineering, analysts to identify requirements that will derive the creation of smart platform and operations to build and manage data pipelines. The ideal candidate is a self-motived teammate with good programming, problem solving and communication skills to adapt and learn quickly, provide results with limited direction, and choose the best possible operational decisions.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years demonstrated ability with platform engineering and large scale platform support.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Kafka, Spark/Flink & tooling.
  • Expertise in Python, Unix Shell scripting.
  • Worked with Apache Spark, Presto, Pig, MR, Hadoop.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the programming language Java/Scala/Golang and NoSQL technologies like Apache Cassandra
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Docker/Kubernetes and Splunk is a plus!
  • We seek excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage work to tight deadlines and handle the pressure of executive requests and product launches

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our team's analytics platform and tools.

Shepherd zero-downtime deployment process through continuous delivery practices, rapidly releasing features that provide insights to customers.

Work hand in hand with the platform team by building the right tools for monitoring and alerting for the day to day management of analytics platforms.

Developing self-service tools and automating things rather than doing them twice to improve data engineering efficiency.

Proactively analyze and manage issues on analytics platform before they impact customers and end users.

Visualize and champion the right use of the platform by building intelligent telemetry.

Education & Experience

Minimum of bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or EE, or relevant industry experience is preferred
