By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you'll push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world.
This position is involved in the development and qualification of advanced lithium ion battery technology for portable power consumer applications. You will work with internal multi-functional teams to develop physics-based electrochemical models of target designs based on calibrations and design assumptions. In addition, you develop capability to simulate cell aging versus load and operating conditions. You will work with internal and external resources to validate the models to high levels of confidence. Guidance will be provided to internal cell engineering staff and external vendor base to optimize cell design, cell performance and, where applicable, cell production issues.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
PhD (Required) in Material Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
