Design, develop, modify, improve, and support automotive products, including sun visor, reading lamp, plastic console and other automotive parts, to meet customer requirements, design specifications, safety standards, and government regulations. Communicate with customer’s engineers about functional requirements, technological specifications, cost estimation, feedback of our products, design changes, and other engineering issues related to the design of automotive parts. Apply the engineering principles of Dynamics to analytically model the mechanical and structural systems of designee automotive product. Perform the methodology of Engineering Design or Mechanical Design to effective design and develop engineering solutions with conflicting customer needs and technical capacities. Generate various drawings for prototyping and work on 3-D design modeling using Solidworks and other CAD/CAE software. Analyze design proposals, specifications, blueprints, and other engineering data to ensure the accurate design and manufacturing of product. Calculate axial stress and strain, torsion, elastic curves and combined stress to ascertain the strength of materials to be used in automotive parts; and participate in the preparation of Bill of Material (BOM). Apply Assembly Modeling technology and method to design and visualize multiple components within a product. Utilize statistical quality control methods to monitor automotive parts, determine cause of quality problems, and coordinate and implement effective and timely resolutions. Analyze GD&T, perform DFMEA, and diagnose the root cause of malfunctioned components. Apply the concept of lean manufacturing to reduce manufacturing cost, and always keep in mind the relationship between product design and manufacturing process to ensure the manufacturability of designed product. Support audits and walkthroughs across the plant, prepare and maintain auditing records. Address OEM and Tier-1 supplier’s complaints regarding the functions of our auto parts. Requirements

Educational requirement: Master’s degree or its foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering. Other requirement: Completion of college-level courses related to the following topics: 1) Dynamics; 2) Engineering Design or Mechanical Design Method; 3) Solidworks; 4) Strength Materials; 5) Assembly Modeling; 6) Statistical Quality Control; 7) Lean Manufacturing; and 8) Product Design and Manufacturing Processes. Employer will accept suitable combination of education, training and/or experience (such as 3-month of work experience in lieu of a college-level course).
