The Video Codec team is one of the most cutting-edge organizations in Apple. We're the heart and soul of all the image/video related components and features across Apple, such as 4K HDR Video Capture, LivePhotos, FaceID, ProRes Video Afterburner, FCP/Compressor, FaceTime, Airplay, and HDR HLG/DolbyVision playback. Given the new challenges ahead, we're looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to help support our extending Continuous Integration infrastructures of our software development processes.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in CI (Jenkins) and source control (GitHub)
  • Excellent scripting skills (Python and Shell scripting)
  • Strong programing skills in C/C++, Swift, Quick
  • XCode, XCTest, XCUITest
  • Test Applications/Tools development
  • UNIX/Linux, macOS
  • Test Automation and/or UI Automation
  • Experience in video/image quality assessment is a plus

Description

You will work with the unreleased Apple product lines from iPhone/iPad to MBP/MBA/iMacs, to ensure the best video experience in the world to our customers.

Your primary responsibility is to build, manage, and maintain the heart of our CI/Automation infrastructure for our most exciting software development projects. This includes video compression/decompression, decode/encode, and pre/post processing technologies for all platforms in Apple; including iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and macOS. You will work closely with the most intelligent Software/Firmware/Driver engineers and be the most meaningful gate keeper of the next amazing OS releases.

Other tasks include, but are not limited to test planning, hands-on functional testing, bug reporting/regression, building CI test farms, and maintaining the automation racks.

A successful candidate should have a strong aptitude of learning new technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive complex and challenging projects.

Strong collaboration with engineering teams and an ability to thrive under pressure, are key skills required to succeed in this role.

Education & Experience

Master in EE, CS, or related engineering degrees
