The Apple Audio Products Team is looking for a System-in-Package (SiP) Engineering Project Manager to drive the design, development and validation of high quality System-in-Package hardware modules to help create incredible new Apple Audio Products. SiP module technology integrates complex HW designs into tighter packages and requires close partnership with the Core Product teams and Manufacturing Design teams. The SiP System EPMs are fearless organizers who lead a diverse team of Electrical, Mechanical and Test engineers, utilizing a solid engineering background to recognize, assess and communicate cross-functional issues and risks.
The SiP System EPM will manage a cross-functional team with the goal of delivering SiP modules to meet our program timelines. This role manages and tracks schedules, ensures design readiness, and communicates risks and priorities. A successful candidate will be following up on day to day activities with the engineering team having the top-level project goals in sight at all times.

Key Qualifications

  • You have 4 - 6 years of related experience in project management
  • Your written and oral communication, organization, presentation, and leadership skills are excellent
  • You comprehend, communicate and manage complex design trade-offs
  • You exhibit great interpersonal skills and are oriented toward teamwork
  • Self-motivated and high-energy with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes at scale
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles
  • You remain calm and flexible in times of ambiguity
  • Ability to travel internationally to support builds
  • You have a curiosity for product design and engineering

Description

We seek a highly organized, adaptable, disciplined individual to join our team. This is a highly technical role requiring a solid EE or Mechanics background to understand technical details of cross-functional issues which will enable you to set the proper priorities and put risk mitigation plans in place.

In this dynamic role, you will create and manage hardware development project schedules with engineering teams while communicating project status to a wide spectrum of individual contributors and management. Use teamwork and collaboration to facilitate communication across engineering managers, operations managers, and our OEM partners to meet very aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive day-to day program activities to meet program objectives.
- Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision-making
- Identify and highlight technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in partnership with Apple technologists
- Interact with cross-functional teams including PCB layout to drive development of rigid/flex board designs
- Communicate status and the big picture to the project team and management
- Plan and execute product prototype builds
- Interface between vendors and product engineering teams, setting and handling schedules and product landmarks
- One or more of the following a plus:
- Experience driving international OEM/ODM partners
- Understanding of high volume production and test processes at scale

Education & Experience

BS ME/EE degree or equivalent
