Associate Professor or Professor & Director of Institute for Cybersecurity – Tenured
Department of Computer Science
College of Business and Computing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity and computer science
  • Lead the Institute for Cybersecurity, a NSA/DHS-designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education
  • Establish an active research program, involving undergraduate and graduate students, and having the potential to lead to extramural funding
  • Support NSA/DHS and ABET accreditation activities
  • Participate in course and curriculum development
  • Advise students and provide service to the department, college, and university

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline, with emphasis in cybersecurity. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and service sufficient to merit the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with tenure
  • Demonstrated record of transparent, team-first leadership and commitment to shared governance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of potential for extramural funding
  • Demonstrated breadth of understanding of the current state of the cybersecurity field
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
