Position Overview:

This position of Associate Director Material Program Manager (MPM) located in Tucson, AZ will support the Land Warfare and Air Defense Mission Area and will lead the Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) team for the Close Combat Systems program area reporting to the LW&AD GSCM Director. In this role, your leadership and demonstrated functional management skills will provide accountability for ensuring overall supply chain function performance.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:
  • Develop and lead a team of MPMs that set strategy and are the liaison between the GSCM function and the program Integrated Product Teams (IPT) responsible for production and development contracts as well as proposal activity supporting these program areas.
  • Create, manage, and execute material program strategy (MPS) and oversight for the preparation and execution of Material Program Plans (MPPs).
  • Achieve organizational, department and program alignment while interfacing with all levels of internal and external stakeholders including Program Office, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Contracts as well as the Customer.
  • Owning of the supplier management processes including supplier performance, SCM metrics, international issues, Make/Buy Where strategy, strategic agreements, and communication of customer flow through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
  • Utilize strong background in supply chain management and experience working with Program Management Offices (PMO).
  • Providing comprehensive Supply Chain support for Gates 0-11 activities and ensuring compliance for the programs and tailoring when applicable.
  • Monitoring and proactively addressing performance and financial metrics including those related to cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS.
  • Developing and tracking budgets, targets, working capital, initiating and maintaining accurate material sales forecasts, and EACs.
  • Identifies and mitigates / captures program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Leadership experience preferably leading an organization of a minimum of 15 direct report supply chain professionals for performance management, employee development, mentoring & team building.
  • Supply chain optimization and / or applicable strategy alignment experience across functional or matrix teams; Supply Program Manager (SPM), MPM, and Supplier Engineering (SE) functions in support of assigned programs.
  • Experience planning and execution of affordability and efficiency initiatives as they relate to the material budget and the internal supply chain team and with suppliers to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Program management experience for program goals attainment in areas of supplier delivery, quality and Supply Chain performance to meet program AOP (annual operating plan) metrics.
  • US Citizenship
This position may require ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • MBA, Masters in Business Administration or related Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experienced leader communicating and presenting to all levels of management and leadership including experience leading and resolving conflict within a matrix environment
  • Experience with contract types such as; (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, CPAF,IDIQ)
  • Experienced in development of material strategies that win business and execute flawlessly
  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity management, Earned Value (EVMS), Material Sales Forecasting/Management, Estimates at Completion (EACs), SOW development, Business Finances, Import/Export processes and Integrated Product Development processes
  • Experience with negotiation strategy development and execution
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
  • Working experience as a Cost Account Manager
  • EVMS Certification
  • Experience leading the supply chain content on large, complex domestic production and development programs, including use of MPM tools and metrics
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Current active Secret DoD clearance
