Job Summary:

In this position as Associate Director, Supplier Performance the successful candidate will manage a team and provide complete oversight of L3/Harris supplier Cost & Performance for RMD Business Unit. L3/Harris is a top 10 supplier for RMD that supports 47 plus production and advanced programs across multiple technologies. Critically ensures supplier performance is achieved through technical excellence and predictable production performance. Overall responsible for supplier schedule execution and cost alignment while understanding and maintaining specific program and RMD program and company objectives.

Through leadership both internal to RMD and externally to L3/Harris ensures that captures and proposals meet technical, cost, schedule performance objectives through direct contract negotiations with suppliers and our mission area customers.

Develops critical senior level relationships both internally to RMD (Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, Quality, RMD Mission Areas) and at the suppliers executive levels. Will lead and drive critical decisions that heavily contribute to RMDs financial performance and bottom line.

Manages end-to-end predictable supplier performance utilizing Program Management principals. Accountable for building, training and leading teams made up of both direct and indirect employees proactively anticipating changes required to drive improved performance.

Financial portfolio responsibility for $384M in material sales with a direct impact to RMDs financial profit and loss bottom line. Financial impacts across the portfolio effect over 47 development and production programs across all of the RMD mission areas.

  • Utilizes Global Supply Chain Management processes and best practices to drive supplier performance, supplier cost, schedule & performance.
  • Provides program management for L3/Harris across RMD and all RMD programs.
  • Engages in proposal support, relationship Management & L3 Subcontract Administration.
  • Leads and oversees supplier technical failure investigations leading to a solid Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) that ensures delivered product meets technical requirements, quality, cost and schedule performance.
  • Drives L3/Harris SER actions, Can Build, Rs and Os, metrics impacts cash, sales, bookings (largely development efforts) & earnings.
  • Collaborates to bring together cross-functional teams and to identify and quickly mitigate with minimal to no impacts to contract performance (Cost/Schedule/Technical) meanwhile working with the programs to keep the factory from shutting down.
  • Definitizes all L3 Proposals and has negotiation skills and abilities to work through differing opinions.
  • Navigates through SOW/Spec changes, reduce price below proposal values, and mitigate Cost Growth & Schedule Impacts this role needs to be able to enable execution to move forward.
  • Negotiates to enable progress in the absence of detailed data and at times minimize swirl / churn and posturing in the presence of refined requirements that are contractually bound that could impact the Cost Share Structure.
  • Supports strategic sourcing across RMD to ensure our strategies and use of L3/Harris are in line with our technology roadmaps and sourcing strategies.
  • Identifies capacity and manufacturing improvements through supplier investment to help position both L3/Harris and RMD in additional business opportunities.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • A BS/BA degree in engineering, supply chain, business, finance or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience within multiple aspects of supply chain, material management, operations and/or program management
  • 8 + years of experience developing and managing supplier base
  • Experience as a people manager; encouraging and in support of performance management activities, goal setting, career counseling, compensation planning, and employee training and /or talent development while managing employee relations issues within varying levels of the Organization
  • Experience with program management principles such as development lifecycle, Statement of work generation (SOW), risk management, action item management, requirement change management, Earned Value planning/tracking/reporting, metrics management, and / or subcontract management
  • Experience with financial impact of decisions on the organizations budget and the program to include managing cost, schedule and/or performance
  • Ability to travel up to 25-40% domestically
  • US Citizenship

U.S. Citizenship is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment with the ability to obtain special access as needed.

  • Procurement / Acquisition compliance, FAR/DFAR and/or other regulatory requirements
  • Experience with schedule and metrics creation, maintenance, forecasting, and analysis experience
  • Current active security clearance
