Job Summary:

Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) in Arlington VA, is seeking a defense industry professional to coordinate business development activities and create new opportunities to drive top line growth for the Naval Power (NP), Naval Surface and Undersea Systems (NSUS) product line. This person will lead business development efforts for undersea programs. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering new business solutions to customers by leveraging Raytheon solutions and capabilities.

Specific responsibilities include support of capture teams to include monitoring and reporting on capture status, management of New Business Investment (NBI) resources, conducting market assessments, lead generation and qualification, customer relationship management development, and execution of capture strategies in support of business unit growth targets. This person will be accountable for relationships and interaction with US Government agencies and international customers to develop new business, share information and to immediately resolve issues as required. As a member of the NSUS business development team, you work closely with the other Business Units, Functional Business Areas, Naval Power Programs and Product Area Directorates, Business Development Executives (BDE), and Raytheon International country teams. You will ensure collaboration and alignment of all strategies to drive customer satisfaction across the regions and will report directly to the NSUS BDE and as required to the Naval Power BDE.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Execute NSUS business development strategy to meet growth targets
  • Plan, coordinate and execute a prioritized synchronization strategy that focuses on closing pursuits that impact the current Annual Operating Plan (AOP) followed by Long Range Plan
  • Collaborate internally and with our partners to plan, coordinate and execute capture strategies for NSUS pursuits
  • Coordinate and manage NBI, capture and proposal gate reviews, new business assessment and pipeline reviews, Competitive Intelligence, technical and customer engagements
  • As an enterprise player lead by example and provide professional and technical expertise to the business development team, RMD, and our global customers
  • This position requires international travel

    This position requires a current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications you must have:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • A current Secret US Security Clearance.
  • 12+ years of experience in government, defense, aerospace or related industry
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, International Affairs or related field
  • Navy undersea warfare operations, platforms, or networks experience
  • Familiarity with naval operations and command and control systems
  • Experience presenting and communicating with customers and senior leadership

Qualifications we value:

  • Relevant government and/or industry experience with an established network across government
  • Professional experience with naval command and control systems
  • Good understanding of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) acquisition processes
  • Understanding of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations
  • Familiarity with the business development process, investment funding process and international strategic assessment
  • Navy requirements generation, resource sponsor, or program management experience
  • Previous business development experience with industry
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to discuss solutions in the context of a notional Concept of Operations
  • Masters Degree
