Associate Business Research Analyst

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an Associate Business Research Analyst who will conduct multidisciplinary research for diverse audiences around the world. As part of our research team, you will study and understand the significance of current events, collect and analyze market data, and deliver your findings in thoughtful, well-written reports and presentations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide research support on a broad range of topics including markets, industries, companies, economies, politics, and regulations.

2. Research, collect, organize, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.

3. Assist the team with identification and vetting of secondary sources.

4. Present information in reports and small group meetings.

5. Contribute to and prepare daily updates that keep SEL personnel informed of internal and external developments relevant to our business.

6. Maintain a working knowledge of SEL industries, geographies, products, customers, and business structure.

7. Develop internal networks of people with whom you exchange information and ideas.

8. Follow SEL Values and Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

9. Understand. Create. Simplify.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a field such as international business, economics, political science, or geography

Must be able to demonstrate professional writing skills and clear analytical thinking

Strong commitment and ability to deliver accurate information

Ability and desire to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency in a foreign language

Skills in finance, statistics, or data analytics
