Job Summary:

RMD Engineering's Mechanical Products Team (MPT) leads the businesss efforts in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radars, command and control, effectors, communications and other technical systems operating in the ground-based tactical and undersea environments. MPT uses state-of-the-art tools, processes and technology to deliver innovative solutions to make the world a safer place.

The MPT organization is seeking an Associate Director to serve as the LTAMDS (Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense) Radar Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) IPT Lead. LTAMDS is a recent Raytheon Technologies franchise program that will deliver a next-generation radar with 360 degree visibility to defeat advanced threats including hypersonic weapons.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Lead the LTAMDS Radar P3I IPT, including design, production & test readiness of the Full Materiel Release (FMR) Radar system for full rate production.
Overall planning, execution, reporting, and leadership of the IPT. Additionally provides leadership and oversight of the Infrastructure, Processing Equipment and Maintainer Monitoring Module (M3) sub-IPTs as well as the overall Hardware CPT responsibilities for the LTAMDS P3I System.
Closely partners with chief engineers, technical leads, Operations, Supply Chain and Mission Assurance to support design release, procurement, build and test of P3I hardware to support the P3I test program.
Management of design completion while simultaneously balancing resulting performance with the ability to meet the customers critical schedule requirements.
Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering Leadership and Program Leadership.
Will utilize hardware engineering capabilities to ensure successful technical execution.
Will transition designs to production and leads a design release into production.
Provides collaboration and engagement with all levels of Raytheon Management, internal and external customers.
Provides collaboration and engagement with USG customers technical and quality leadership, as well as regular customer briefings at management reviews and Technical Interchange meetings.

Qualifications you must have:

Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
12+ years relevant professional engineering, design or manufacturing experience
Experience leading and participating in design and development activities
Experience in leadership positions
Experience preparing both technical and cost proposals
Experience with earned value management and / or other program management skills
Experience presenting challenging technical issues to senior leadership
Ability to travel in support of MPT and Program activities both domestic and international
Active/Current Clearance at Secret level
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance as of day one of employment and may require additional program specific clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
