Join our Space Science and Engineering Division as an Assistant Program Manager or Program Manager in the Department of Earth, Oceans, and Space. Provide project management, technical leadership, and business development support for a variety of SwRI projects, mostly in the aerospace sector (NASA, DoD, and commercial space opportunities). One current program is the development of a magnetometer for the NOAA Space Weather Follow On – Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1) mission. Oversee the completion of research, development, fabrication, integration, and test of various flight hardware projects. Provide project management support, including technical leadership, management and control of scope, schedule and budgets (including earned value analysis). Provide technical leadership and support of business development efforts, in coordination with department management, including technical interface with customers to define requirements, development of white papers and Request for Information (RFI) responses, and leadership and development of technical and cost proposals. Author budgetary documents, technical reports, and provide technical briefings to clients and SwRI leadership. Maintain strong analytical and innovative skills and lead complex multi-disciplinary teams. Occasional travel to domestic and international destinations will be required.

Requirements

Requires a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering degree. PMP or related training is preferred. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have at least 5 years of managing space programs or related programs. Must have demonstrated experience with the leadership and management of technical projects and programs in aerospace or related industries. Government contract experience. Strong organizational, management, communications, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential. Must have in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum) and Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of Risk Management, Configuration Management, Earned Value Management, and Resource Management. Must be effective in a collaborative highly technical, multi-institutional team environment. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Work assignment is in Durham, New Hampshire. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
