Assistant Professor, Cybersecurity

 

Gannon University's School of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for an Assistant Professor for the newly created Cybersecurity Program. The appointment for this nine-month tenure track position begins in January 2020 or August 2020. The ideal candidate will teach and develop both undergraduate and graduate level courses in cybersecurity program; engage students through advising, research projects and engaging instruction.

 

Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at Gannon. Requirements include a Ph.D. (completed by December 2019 or August 2020) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computing Education or appropriate related Cybersecurity field. ABD Candidates will be considered. Priority will be given to those in the areas of data security, software security, component security, connection security, system security, artificial intelligence, and block-chain technology; however, exceptional candidates from other related areas of cybersecurity will also be considered. Demonstrated experience in cyber defense, cyber operation, cyber applications, or cyber data analysis is preferred. Previous experience in advising undergraduate projects and developing industrial training and/or new undergraduate and graduate lab activities is preferred. A track record of successful project leadership and industrial experience are also preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in research and a strong commitment to teaching. Excellent communications skills are required. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
