  • Maintaining accurate and secure records of student grades, attendance, and advisement;
  • Maintaining high standards of professionalism in the content, objectives, teaching, and grading of all courses;
  • Filing accurate course syllabi with the School of Arts and Sciences each semester;
  • Maintaining an understanding of college policies and the curriculum and degree requirements of the programs in their field;
  • Participating in departmental, school, and college faculty meetings and serving on committees as appropriate;
  • Contributing to the ongoing operation of their respective department and school;
  • Assessing their job performance including teaching effectiveness, advisement, scholarship and service via an annual self-evaluation in accordance with official college procedure;
  • Assuring their availability to students, faculty, staff, and administrators by posting and keeping at least ten office hours per week;
  • Maintaining a professional level of scholarship by continuous study, research, and attendance and participation at professional meetings. These activities are supported by the college through departmental travel funds and the faculty development program

Preferred Skills/Other Experience:

  • Prior teaching experience in a college/university environment highly preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Requires the ability to sit for periods of time, with frequent interruptions
  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
  • Requires talking, hearing, and seeing as important elements for completing assigned tasks
  • Requires occasionally lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Requires the use of various electronic tools
  • Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
  • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others: and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from management
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a school vehicle


Education and Specific Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science required, PhD. preferred.
