Job Description

This position is for a Technology Development Operations Research Engineers (TD ORE's) in Assembly Test and Technology Development (ATTD) that will be expected to design, develop, validate and deploy simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems within the sort, die prep, assembly and test areas.

This includes developing mathematical equipment run rate models, supporting ramp and end-of-life plans, developing and implementing total cost of ownership Continuous Improvement Project's (CIP's).

Build, develop, validate and apply mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization and simulation models from individual tools to full factory to the virtual factory network.

The engineer will need to keep up-to-date of the latest technology changes and implications to how we manage our manufacturing processes and supply chain.

Additionally, the engineer will be responsible to lead development projects to improve systems and business process used within the technology development and manufacturing organizations.

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


  • Possess a bachelor's degree or master's degree or PhD degree in Computer Science/Industrial Engineering/Operations Research/Systems Engineer/ Engineering Management or any other related discipline.

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing operations, flows, equipment, facilities and understanding of the factory capacity and/or capital systems

  • Willingness to spend up to 50% time on the manufacturing floor for periods of time to development module knowledge and collect data thru observations

  • Work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves

  • Willing to develop, validate and maintain parametric models to predict equipment performance, also known as Speed Models, (Example: cycle time, throughput, set-up / conversion / availability)


  • Data collection, organization, statistical design, analysis and manipulation skillset

  • Data mining and analysis using SQL, Python, JMP, PowerBI or Tableau

  • Understanding of supply chain management and/or experience dealing with external suppliers

  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing
