We are looking for research scientists with a passion for using computer vision and machine learning to transform intelligent user experiences. You will join a close-knit team of highly accomplished, deeply technical research scientists and machine learning engineers on delivering cutting edge technologies that impact millions of users!

To succeed within this role, you should have shown experience in several of the following areas:

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of research experience in academia or industry, with a solid publication history
• Expertise in at least one area of computer vision, machine learning, and computer graphics (e.g., deep convolutional neural networks, object detection, tracking, segmentation, AR/VR, image and video processing, 3D geometry, SLAM, multi-view geometry, simulation, graphics rendering
• STRONG EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING EARLY STAGE PRODUCTS
• A passion for creating innovative techniques, and making them robust and scalable
• Ability to distill vague product experiences into concrete problem definitions
• Skilled in explaining and presenting analyses and machine learning concepts to a broad technical audience
• Creative, collaborative, and innovation focused

As a member of this team, you will use your deep understanding of computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to tackle meaningful technical problems, and collaborate with the most innovative product development teams in the world. You will perform fundamental research by defining, designing, implementing and evaluating CVML algorithm involving unrivaled data and objectives. You will also actively engage with the academic community by collaborating with universities, publishing and presenting your work, and participating in other academic efforts. You will have the opportunity to contribute to every cool project around Apple, and transfer your ideas into solutions for some of the most challenging technical problems in the next generation of Apple products.

Education & Experience

PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or related field or MS in related field with strong academic track record

Additional Requirements

• Proven track record of innovation in creating novel computer vision and machine learning algorithms and advancing the state of the art
• Proficiency training large scale models using modern machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design, and model building
• Passion for creating new technologies with high product impact
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
