Job Description

As the Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) Business Unit within Intel, we will continue drive the future of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology. PSG continues to deliver industry-leading custom logic solutions to customers, and to take advantage of the many opportunities that we see in the future for FPGA's. Intel's Military Applications Engineering Team is seeking a Applications Engineering Manager.

As the Applications Engineering Manager, you will lead a highly skilled team to enable our customers with PSG solutions. Your primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) leading a team responsible for military customer support (pre and post sales), setting team priorities, developing employees, coordination of collateral development (documentation, demos, reference designs, training) for new product rollout, and providing guidance from a customer and systems perspective to cross functional teams to create an optimal customer experience. You will also coordinate and collaborate with our Research and Development (R&D) teams to provide product readiness feedback and act as a liaison for our Field Applications Engineering (FAE) teams for successful adoption of Intel PSG solutions for our customers and to ensure a good communications channel between the field and the R&D teams. You will also lead the team to work with planning and marketing on roadmap generation and the definition of technical specifications taking into account learnings from customer experiences.


Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of hardware or hardware/software experience in an area related to FPGA, ASIC, CPU (or related) development or debug

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a lead or engineering manager role

  • Experience with Quartus and other FPGA centric design flows tools

  • Experience leading customer engagements / applications development

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
