AppleCare is looking for a dynamic and motivated candidate for the position of worldwide demand planner. This role will own the worldwide demand forecasting for a piece of the AppleCare business. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and using analytics to improve forecasting methods. You will analyze large amounts of data, identify significant trends, and adjust to meet an ever-evolving demand landscape. You are also be able to effectively communicate data analysis and forecast impacts to a broad audience of AppleCare internal customers. You are a creative problem solver who is passionate about building, maintaining, and driving innovative solutions to deliver outstanding customer service.

This position can be based in Santa Clara Valley, California or Austin, Texas.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 3 - 5 years in a service, manufacturing or logistics operation or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge of forecasting methodologies and optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical capability and statistics skills. Utilize database, SQL and Excel skills to collect, organize, and analyze data to support forecasting efforts
  • Experience using a standardized forecasting tool such as SAP APO
  • Passion for solving complex business problems using applied statistics. Ability to distill large and intricate information down to simple, easy to understand terms and conclusions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience presenting analytical content to senior leadership
  • Play a leadership role in the standardization of deliverables; ensure adherence to commitments
  • Aptitude for blending quantitative and qualitative data
  • Independent self-starter who can lead multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment

Description

We are strengthening our Demand Planning team and are seeking a dynamic Demand Planner with a positive & enthusiastic demeanor, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think in a broad scope. In this highly visible position you will present to senior management and executives on a regular basis.
- Lead all aspects of demand planning and corresponding supply chain collaboration for a specific line of business
- Present forecast performance while highlighting changes in business trends in order to drive strategy conversations
- Analyze historical data to develop statistical lifecycle demand curves and/or forecast models for specific commodities/regions to provide accurate forecasts in an ever-changing landscape
- Assess demand drivers and macro trends and apply to forecasts.
- Analyze impact of seasonality and other business events on demand pattern and apply appropriate adjustments
- Develop and maintain NPI and sustaining forecast models using SAP APO and other analytical tools
- Track & improve forecast metrics through process development
- Collaborate with Operations Research team to implement system solution to support the DP process
- Analyze parts with low forecast accuracy and address root cause working with Supply Planners.
- Complete root cause analyses and develop mitigation plans for any unexpected demand changes

Education & Experience

Requires BS degree. MS/MBA in Supply Chain or Operations is a plus.
