Experienced planner responsible for AppleCare service inventory planning and management across various lines of business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing AppleCare's process and reporting apparatus, driving initiatives to improve supply and inventory turns to stretch goals, and deliver effective and timely reporting suites to support the various partners within AppleCare. This is a cross functional role that works with Global Commodity Management, AppleCare Planning and Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Logistics and the Finished Goods Materials teams. This position will be responsible for continued development of process and tools in support of life-cycle planning for service parts. The successful candidate will directly impact AppleCare's customer service and total service costs by driving inventory management improvements.

Key Qualifications

  • Experienced in service parts planning in same or similar industry
  • Experienced in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Strong Excel skills a must.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data manipulation and model development
  • Excellent communication skills required, including experience with executive level presentations
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships across functional/regional teams
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • APICS CPIM certification or similar a plus
  • Experience in Process/Tool implementation a plus
  • Experience running cross functional processes with multiple partners, on tight timelines with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Experience using Business Objects, Tableau, or similar reporting suites


The essential duties of this position may include:

Develop and drive overall inventory strategy for AppleCare GSSC Materials organization (all commodities).

Lead monthly E&O process with GSSC and Finance

Identify excess and drive scrap opportunities through bi-weekly inventory meeting with GSSC management and finance.

Drive Finished Goods and Refurb excess analysis in coordination with supply planning

Lead bi-weekly inventory review process with Planning, Finance, and Procurement Management teams

Own the Weeks of Supply and Turns forecasting and review process for all lines of business with the intent of driving WOS down, Turns up while maintaining best in class fill rates across all LOBs.

Manage scrap authorization creation, tracking and execution process world wide

Manage Board Component commodity and find opportunities for disposition of excess material in partnership with global commodity management, SQE, Finance, and GSSC

Work cross functionally to identify cost saving initiatives through inventory management policies

Develop Recommend disposition for excess and obsolete materials

Recommend optimal safety stock levels at Apple Care warehouses based on high, medium and low usage volume parts.

Implement tools to enable scalable inventory management processes and tools.

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree plus 8-10 years or MA/MS/MBA plus 6-8 years experience, or equivalent.
