Reporting to the Worldwide Head of Apple Podcasts, you will be responsible for defining and executing the editorial and content strategy for the service. This is a role rooted in the listener experience: you will collaborate with creators and internal teams worldwide to ensure that Apple Podcasts is the best place for our customers to find their next favorite show.

With 10+ years experience in the media and entertainment industry, this role allows the successful candidate to step into a role ready to bring their experience and expertise, while continuing to grow in their career.

Key Qualifications

  • A passion for Podcasts - the unique connection and sense of community that defines the medium
  • Highly developed editorial judgment - instincts for quality across many categories and formats
  • Deep understanding of digital platforms and content strategy in the digital space
  • Significant experience in the ideation, creation, planning and maintenance of editorial content
  • Broad understanding of audio consumption trends and patterns
  • Demonstrated experience leading creative development and execution across distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, and taking initiative to make confident and well-informed decisions
  • Proven track record of managing high-performing growing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving, making decisions informed by business insights and data
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of professionalism
  • Ability to prioritize, learn quickly, and be flexible
  • Excellent relationship management abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • A "can-do" attitude for all situations, no task too big or too small to handle
  • Results-oriented, upbeat, pressure-tested and focused, with a strong passion to learn and succeed

Description

Define content and editorial strategy for a globally distributed team

Plan and build Editorial-first campaigns that drive engagement on the Apple Podcasts platform

Collaborate with cross-functional creative teams to define and execute repeatable brands that resonate

Build and execute ideas that are welcoming and interesting to diverse and underrepresented audiences

Manage day to day merchandising direction of podcasts, episodes, channels and subscriptions in US and Canada

Manage and maintain weekly cross-functional meetings to provide updates on all projects

Conduct ongoing analysis of what is working on platform to help guide ongoing content decisions by leaning on both data and experience

Work with PR on showcasing and highlighting the work being born out of the Apple Podcasts team

Contribute to guidelines, policies and best practices to ensure that Apple Podcasts is a delightful trusted experience

Collaborate with the leadership team on the future of the experience across all channels

Set the stage for great podcasts to reach the biggest possible audience

Education & Experience

University degree preferable.

MBA or Post-Graduate is a plus
