The Apple Media Products Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple's high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries.
These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services.
Thanks to Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep commitment to strengthening Apple's privacy policy, one of Apple's core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple's business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here.
We are seeking an expert research engineer to build the foundation of services, frameworks and tooling that will enable analysts, data scientists and engineers to develop insights and build machine learning models. These insights will be used to improve products such as the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV+ and more!
Key Qualifications
The Apple Media Products Analytics team is responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting on customer experience data. From the raw data collected we generate various feature datasets, such as aggregates and funnels, which are used to improve how customers interact with our products. You will work on a small team that is responsible for collecting requirements from data scientists and analysts, translating them into engineering specs, working with other teams on instrumentation and data quality, and developing datasets and machine learning features used for analytics and research.
Solid engineering skills matters - you will be expected to write code that is robust, reusable, testable and maintainable, paying special attention to data quality and performance details. We are looking for a research engineer who can proactively drive projects to delivery, has excellent communication skills, sweats the details, and cares about how the data they produce is interpreted and used.
Teamwork is important to you - you readily contribute to design discussions, and are able to both give and receive constructive code reviews. Your curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and apply creative solutions to problems.
Education & Experience
BS, MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
