What are our current solutions' limitations and how can we overcome them? Our team is looking for an experienced SI/PI Engineer who wants to take on validation board design challenges.

As the SI/PI engineer for a team of board designers you will be working with design engineers to study, simulate and optimize different board designs and topologies to deliver best-in class hardware solutions for Intel products. You will have the opportunity to participate in enabling state of the art technologies in the areas of high-speed signaling, PCB manufacturing, and debug and probing solutions. As our SI/PI engineer you will often define PCB stack-ups, run breakout and routing studies, simulate different topologies to understand solution limitations, optimize connector performance through simulating voiding schemes, optimize power delivery, review board layouts, extract s-parameters, define routing rules and constraints, power up and debug boards in the lab, and take TDR/VNA measurements.

Youll be joining a team that works closely with a variety of customers (functional validation, electrical validation, design validation, power & performance, IP teams) to develop a variety of hardware solutions for the next generation high-speed interfaces. Our typical project cadence is 6 months to develop and deliver a handful of solutions for the next Intel Silicon before power on starts and we're supporting our boards in the lab. This is a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and good communication. The work is challenging and rewarding when we see our boards working in the hands of our customers who are finding bugs and improving the quality of Intel Silicon.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (or a related field) and 4+ years of experience -OR- Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering (or a related field) and 3+ years of experience -OR- PhD Electrical or Computer Engineering and 1+ years of experience, and:

  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following: PCIeX Physical layer, LPDDR4/5, Power delivery design, 100+Gig interfaces, Type-C (TCSS, USB3.0, TBT), Pam4 signaling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in the industry
  • Hands on experience in either Silicon design or board design
  • Experience with Hspice, SIwave, PowerSI, PowerDC (Ansys and Cadence simulation tools suites)
  • Lab measurement experience with Oscilloscope, TDR, VNA
