NSA Overview
The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.
The Office of Reasonable Accommodations & Accessibility (ORAA) has immediate opening for Sign Language Interpreters to provide interpreting and transliterating services for deaf and hard of hearing customers.
The incumbent will:
Plan, organize, and implement American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services; interpret complex subject matter in a variety of classified, highly technical, sensitive and unique situations from polygraphs, high profile platform interpreting and highly technical transliterations to training and informational discussions for various disciplines and personnel to include Engineers, Mathematicians and Computer Scientists.
Exhibit discretion, professionalism, and sensitivity to workplace diversity issues.
Travel to provide accommodations may be required.
If needed:
-prepare and manage contracts
-conduct internal training on Deaf awareness issues
-suggest best practice solutions to problems/issues involving Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing employees
-serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)
-perform other duties as needed to support other programs and services provided by ORAA
-develop and maintain accurate and timely spreadsheets on all contracts
-certify invoices and keep records for the Performance Review of the contractors.
-have, or be willing to acquire, skills in the Pro-Tactile method of interpreting for Deaf-Blind individuals.
