Role Number:200203608

Join the growing Siri Client team in our new Seattle offices and build innovative ways to use Siri in the Car. CarPlay is one of Siri's fastest growing platforms, shipping on over 500 car models. You'll be working very closely with Siri and CarPlay teams in Cupertino to create the next generation of iOS platform features that drive (pun intended) the Siri experience.
Looking for a screener/tools engineer who is an Apple fan and excited about using Siri. The screener/tools role is a lynchpin role for the development team, essential to keeping the Siri Client Engineering team efficiently focussed on the most valuable work.

Key Qualifications

  • Great problems solving and debugging skills (looking at logs, console)
  • Detail oriented, likes to get to the bottom of things
  • Great communication skills to bridge engineers, EPMs, QA
  • Great at asking questions
  • Eager to learn
  • Demonstrates ability to find ways to save time (by any means - scripts, asking questions earlier, changes to process)
  • Interested in Siri (for non-superficial obvious reasons).
  • Cares about user impact (even when the users are the dev team)
  • Comfortable working in Terminal/unix shells

Description

This person will be happy to be surrounded by Apple devices that are in various states of working.

They will use investigative prowess to find more and more efficient ways to diagnose issues and catch them earlier.

This person will care about the user's experience with Siri, will be a great communicator and work with our Engineering, QA, and PM teams to show information. They love to tinker and understand the root cause of things.

This is role for someone hungry to learn. It requires asking questions of all the engineers (who are more than happy to help), and it also provides all the tools to dig in yourself and learn as much as you want. You'll work very closely with our team's other integration engineer and will learn from each other.

Some required skills are: Experience with Macs/iOS devices, experience helping others with their devices, comfortable with MacOS, Unix shell, curiosity, and caring about user experience.

Education & Experience

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
