As a Hardware Engineer in Apple's Machine Intelligence group, you will have the outstanding opportunity to be part of a small team with close ties to the research community. You'll be responsible for different aspects of low power hardware design for AI applications. In particular, you'll work on projects that not only influence current Apple products, but also contribute to the shape of future Apple products. In our team we have opportunities from Verilog and embedded software programming for end-to-end systems to board design for proof-of-concept prototypes. We closely work with Apple Hardware organizations and try to bring AI-Hardware perspective to Apple designs. Our ideal team member is daring when it comes to trying new things, is adept at reasoning about computing hardware performance, and is willing to iterate on ideas and derive breakthroughs. We value team members who can quickly prototype, iterating all the way to high-quality implementations.
Key Qualifications
As a Hardware Engineer on this team, you will use your background to:
- Build ultra low power hardware for AI applications
- Come up with novel ideas to improve power consumption to fit the application requirement
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams and understand requirements.
- Articulate implementation choices, challenges and present results
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams in order to define prototype hardware to evaluate new technologies and features
- Do failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis and system-level problem solving
- Have hands on bench measurements of prototypes
Education & Experience
Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
