The Skunk Works is looking for world class talent in Aeronautical Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.

This exciting position is with the Skunk Works located in Marietta, Georgia. This position will support an ADP (Advanced Development Program) effort as a Tools/Process development engineer for ADP Structures/Airframe IPT covering the Loads, Flutter/Dynamics, Stress and Fleet Data Processing disciplines

Primary driver to optimize complete end-to-end analysis processes. Requires extensive background in Structural Engineering and all IT aspects involved including: software development, numerical methods, user interfaces, database, hardware/network architecture

Perform analyses in the aeroelastic realm including: whole vehicle flutter analysis with and without control systems, aero-servo elastic analysis, normal modes determination through FEA. Requires extensive background in LM aeroelastic analysis tools based on the FAMAS system

The successful candidate is expected to assimilate the varied aspects of each step in the complete analysis processes and develop advanced complete end to end solutions and guide their development into a final product. Considered an expert or authority in complex analysis system development

The candidate must possess exceptional people skills and oral/written communication skills. Travel (1 to 2 trips per month) is required to customer facilities, other LM Aero sites, and LM business units.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and special program clearances.

***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance with Background Investigation date less than 5 years to start.***

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor or above Degree in an Engineering Technical
Discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical,
or Civil Engineering
- Proficient in C/C++ and Fortran languages in a Unix
environment
- Proficient in design and development of Graphical User
Interfaces (GUI) to implement efficient user driven
analyses
- Proficient in design and development of 2-D and 3-D
graphics systems for data visualization
- Proficient in advanced numerical methods that apply to
aerospace engineering including optimizations to
maximize performance

Desired skills
- Detailed knowledge of F-22 Flutter analysis techniques
using FAMAS P185+P83 and other analysis utilities
- Experience with Pro-C language
- Experience with development of MATLAB callable
applications (mex programs)
- Background in dealing with endian differences between
platforms
- Working knowledge of NASTRAN in the areas of
structural and flutter analysis
- Working knowledge of writing and maintaining program
documentation in an HTML environment
- Experience in GUI development in Unix environment
- Demonstrated team leadership skills
- Background in requirements definition
- Extensive background in conceptual design and
development of large engineering applications/systems
- Background in Loads and Flutter/Dynamics engineering
- Background in database design and loading/querying.
- Detailed knowledge LM Aeronautics Loads analysis
techniques using FAMAS
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the
FAMAS/MADOL application architecture and
programming techniques
- Proficient in Software Configuration Management (SCM)
and adhering to the Software Engineering Process (SEP)
