This position is with the Engineering & Technology Air Vehicle Systems (AVS) directorate, reporting to the senior manager of the Air Vehicle Development team. The selected candidate will support the Air Vehicle Directorate as the lead for Air Vehicle Operations. These tasks include the following:

• Management of Air Vehicle related activities funded by Direct Charging Indirect budgets
• Management of Air Vehicle related Overhead Indirect budgets including Business Travel, Conference and Training Travel
• Support of Air Vehicle staffing efforts and staffing forecasts
• Coordination of AVS technical support for the Aero Lines of Business (LOBs)
• Support of ongoing AVS Culture of Accountability implementation

The selected candidate will also serve as the lead Competency Assurance Engineer for AVS, with a focus on the Structural Design area. This position leads provision of AVS training for the LOBs, working with the competency assurance leads in the individual technical disciplines.

Competency Assurance tasks are as follows:
• Maintaining constant communication with the Aero Structures teams to understand technical issues and staffing, training, and engineering tool needs
• Being familiar with the Structures work force across Aero, and understanding the related data in the SkillFinder tool
• Supporting development and maintenance of Aero Command Media related to Structures Design, and driving continuous improvement into the processes
• Management of training curricula / course development and training provision / acquisition

Basic Qualifications
• Experience with Control Account Management (CAM) or project / budget planning and execution

• Previous program experience in Structural Design

• Experience with the product development cycle

• Experience in development and implementation of team training

• Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Desired skills
• Comfort and experience in reaching out and communicating with multiple LOBs and functions
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Be a self-starter that can identify own tasking and tempo, with a desire to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It
• Experience across multiple LM Aero LOBs, or multiple Aero sites
• Experience in process development / continuous improvement
• Experience in Culture of Accountability / driving cultural change
• Experience with CATIA
