This course will meet Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am-1:20pm throughout the spring term (January-May 2020).   Qualified candidates will have previous teaching and work experience in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering), new product development and innovation practices.   Teaching skills should include using assigned textbook readings, facilitating group discussions, written assignments, oral presentations, and individual research.

Below is the standard course description for IPD Capstone course within the MIIPS degree:

The Integrated Product Development (IPD) course focuses on team-based integrated product development among engineering, business, and design disciplines. The semester course consists of four modules including identifying, understanding, conceptualizing and introducing a product opportunity. Interdisciplinary teams of students in engineering, business, and industrial design learn methods to research the needs, wants and desires of a market opportunity, define product specifications, conceptualize products to meet the users' needs and desires and refine the most promising concept. This course is intended for MIIPS students; all other students by permission of the instructor.
