MITRE's SIGINT, Communications, and PNT department is seeking a motivated communications and digital signal processing(DSP) engineer to support wireless communications programs in McLean, Va. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a strong team of technically strong engineers to analyze and solve complex communications problems for our government sponsors.

Key Functions:

Perform detailed modeling and simulation of communications and/or sensor systems.
Design and apply digital signal processing algorithms to communications problems.
Provide data processing and theoretical analysis for performance assessments.
Provide insight into novel technologies or implementation of existing technologies in novel ways.
Explore, develop, and assess waveform capabilities.
Assess communications device limitations and provide recommendations for potential improvements.
Work effectively with program team members to achieve program objectives.
Help lead analysis efforts with small teams.

Required Qualifications:

Strong understanding of basic DSP concepts and communications technologies and principles, including waveforms and modulation design, signal propagation, signal detection and algorithm design.
Experience and understanding of system performance analysis.
Ability to develop novel approaches for technical problems.
Good writing and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as providing individual contributions.
Matlab programming

Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering and 3 years related experience. The candidate will demonstrate advanced principles, theories, concepts comparable to those obtained with a master's degree in the fields listed below. The candidate demonstrates sponsors'/customers' missions, domains, challenges. Fully responsible for deliverablesincluding definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.
