Description: Job Description: This position is for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) engineer who will work with other team members to design, implement, manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support VDI environments.  This position will have the responsibility for expanding numerous environments and technologies using VMWare and Citrix technologies.  The candidate will need to be adept at customer service, working with application owners and reviewing Citrix technologies to meet emerging requirements.  The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment.

  •   MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Math Curriculum (3 years relevant exp.)


  •   MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Math Curriculum (7 years relevant exp.)


  • Required:   4+ years of experience in administering large VMWare and Citrix environments
  • Desired:  3+ years working on USN and DOD systems


  • Required:  US citizen with Secret clearance
  • Desired:  US citizen with Top Secret clearance

Required Skills:

  • Architect-level VMWare Horizon and/or Citrix Xen-Product skills and experience designing, installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex and large VDI solutions
  • Architect-level skills designing, implementing, & supporting Citrix XenApp  and XenDesktop environments
  • Practical experience supporting  application virtualization in both Citrix XenApp and VDI implementations
  • Skills in core Citrix Virtual Desktop and Virtual Application technologies
  • Ability to manage/support Citrix application builds & release cycles
  • Knowledge of advanced administration and maintenance of Citrix infrastructure and published applications
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server environments
  • Evaluate, publish, test and document application deployment strategies for Citrix environments
  • Present and discuss Citrix topics to other engineers and stake holders
  • Capability to accurately communicate  relevant project technical information to stake holders

Desired Skills:

  • Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • Operating System Certification
  • Citrix certifications; e.g., CCAA CCA
  • Experience with MS Visio
  • Understanding of DOD information technology and security architectures
