Job Details

The candidate will be responsible for the conceptual design, development, documentation and implementation of special tools, fixtures, gauges, jigs, material handling equipment and other industrial machinery to support the manufacture of prototype and production missile/ordnance parts and assemblies at Pike County Operations. The candidate will use CAD/CAM software, product engineering drawings, specifications and other requirements such as accessibility, economy, lean manufacturing techniques, mobility, performance, and production rates to fully define the factory tooling/equipment requirements. The candidate will be also be involved with new program start-up activities such as tool ordering, fabricator selection, order tracking, buy-off, process development/implementation, final tooling prove-in as well as providing technical guidance and support to other manufacturing support members

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree from an accredited college in a related technical discipline with at least 5 years of professional experience.
Must be able to understand basic drafting methods and utilize CAD software programs to develop special tooling, support equipment, and factory equipment.
Proven knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming; demonstrated application of technical problem solving in the area of manufacturing and production.
Must have hands on experience with building/assembling hardware, and the ability to clearly communicate instructions, verbally and written, providing clear direction for subsequent builds.
Must have a DOD Secret clearance prior to starting and the ability to obtain Special Access Requirements

Desired skills
CREO/Pro-E experience with a focus on tooling, taking a concept through to final design and fabrication
Experience with manufacturing processes (electronic, mechanical, optical assemblies), GD&T, precision machining, assembly sequences
Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement
Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) experience
