Job Details

Orion thermal analysis team needs a self-motivating thermal engineer. Candidate will be responsible for all aspects for thermal analysis and design, including: 1) system and/or sub-system thermal analysis using Thermal Desktop, 2) thermal control design development, 3) system and sub-system requirements development, 4) thermal test definition and execution, 5) model and results documentation, and 6) presenting to NASA customer, IPTs and program management. Orion thermal model development process requires knowledge of Pro-E. The position requires interfacing with the NASA customer and Orion sub-system product teams on a regular basis. Previous working relationship with NASA is highly desirable, because the Orion thermal team has a close working relationship with NASA

Basic Qualifications
• BSME Bachelors of Science in either Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Strong background applying heat transfer theory to manned launch vehicles and spacecraft
• Excellent Oral/Written Communication skills
• Fast learner with good problem solving abilities
• Strong working knowledge of Thermal Desktop
• Experience in the development of technical reports or specifications
• Able to work in a team environment
• Intermediate skill level with ProE
• Testing experience, both planning and execution phases
• Advance knowledge of programing with Matlab

Desired skills
• Understanding of fluid systems
• Experience with space flight hardware qualification testing, verification and certification processes.
• Thermal hardware experience
