Directly supports the Missile Defensive System (MDS) Line of Business (LOB) by managing THAAD System Integration Lab (SIL) activities. The position also involves implementation of the Full-Spectrum Leadership principles and performance of functional management responsibilities for the group: staffing, performance assessments, promotions, compensation, career development and morale. Working with the Sunnyvale functional senior manager and program management, fill program needs and resolve placement of technical personnel. Ensure the right expertise is identified and made available to deal with critical program technical issues. Manage personnel development through training opportunities, career counseling, and managed assignments. Provide a positive influence on the productivity and morale of the systems engineering organization, teammates and peers

As the System Integration Lab Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader, work with the Customer and Thaad components to ensure proper planning, execution, integration and testing, requirement verification and evaluation of functional performance of the overall weapon system. As SIL manager will be required to provide briefing, Tours and Demonstration of the Weapon system capability to Lockheed Martin and Foreign Military Sales dignitaries and VIPs. Provide leadership and direction for future integration and testing of THAAD component Hardware and Software in the SIL Hardware-In-The Loop (HWIL) facility. Manage multiple HWIL lines for developing and sustaining several US Government and Foreign Military Sales configurations. Perform Technical and Leadership functions to verify THAAD System Builds comprised of Interceptor, Fire Control & Communications, Launcher, Radar and Battery Support Center is compatible. Lead a team of engineers in the planning, definition, and performance of test planning, procedure development, test execution, and data analysis. Manage the development of new capability and maintenance of SIL Engagement Manager Software and the SIL HWIL infrastructure

As the SIL Certified Principle Engineer, ensure systematic integration and flight test readiness assessment of the THAAD Weapon System consistent with program requirements, technical, schedule and cost constraints. Support critical program weapons system issues resolution. As required, Provide the Element CPE the necessary information and/or documentation

As the SIL Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsible for all cost, schedule planning and reporting. Support new business opportunities and proposals

Basic Qualifications
Must have experience in interfacing with DOD customer and industry counterparts. Must be capable of domestic travel and hold a DOD Secret clearance or higher. Must have demonstrated leadership experience and good communication skills. Ability to manage a large, diverse team in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Strong focus on Mission Success and proven ability to manage an HWIL facility. Have working knowledge of Configuration Management principles, and real time concepts to provide a realistic test environment for integrating and testing of tactical weapon systems. Demonstrated ability to integrate hardware and software across multiple component interfaces. An understanding of MDA element interoperability with other agencies. Must have a minimum of a BS degree in Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 10 Years engineering experience

Desired skills
Project planning and/or earned value management experience. Familiarity with programs/personnel across the Missile Defense Systems LOB. Knowledge of the system engineering process and tools. Knowledgeable of Software Engineering principles, software system requirements, testing, integration and qualification. Understanding of the THAAD Tactical System comprising of Battle Manager, Interceptor, Launcher and Radar. Working knowledge of good understanding of Tadil-J protocol
