The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University invites applications for three tenure-track positions at all ranks. McGill University is among the top research intensive academic institutions in Canada, attracting over one-half billion dollars in competitive research funding each year. It has been consistently ranked in the top universities worldwide in a number of recent surveys. Successful candidates will play leading roles in maintaining McGill’s international reputation of excellence in research and teaching.

 

We are seeking candidates with expertise in the following areas: machine learning/AI, software engineering, computer engineering and nanoelectronics/nanophotonics. Exceptional candidates will be considered for nomination for a Canada Research Chair or a CIFAR Artificial Intelligence Chair.

 

The Department has strong research activities in communications, computational electromagnetics, electronic materials and devices, microelectronics and computer systems, nanotechnology, photonic devices and systems, power engineering, software engineering and systems and control.

 

The Department is committed to excellence in teaching in its undergraduate and graduate programs in Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering and values service contributions of its Faculty members to the University, the profession and society at large.

 

Deadline for receiving applications will be December 31st 2017. Applications will be reviewed starting on December 1st 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. Requirements

 

Candidates must have a Ph.D., preferably with a first degree in electrical, computer or software engineering. Evidence of outstanding research achievements, or research potential, is indispensable. Preferred qualifications include dedication to an environment that supports diversity of population and perspectives; as our students come from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds, we invite candidates to address in their application their ability to teach, supervise, and mentor in this context. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association is required.
