Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (Ref.: 201701618)

Applications are invited for tenure-track appointment as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

The Department is one of the five engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering, offering B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in fields of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics or a closely-related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching. The position is open to all research areas in Industrial Engineering, and Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering. Priority will be given to those in the areas of robotics, cyber-physical system, financial engineering, logistics engineering, big data analytics, and healthcare engineering. The appointee will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervise research students and projects. The appointee will be involved in setting up and developing the midstream translational research platform in the Faculty of Engineering.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
