Temporary -  Environmental Engineering Community Manager

The overall purpose of this position is to direct the integration for Technical Activities Environmental Engineering Initiative (EEI) Technical Community, under the coordination and supervision of the EEI Chair and Co-Chair.

Essential Functions:

•             Supports and manages the technical and business actions of the Environmental Engineering Technical Community.  This includes working with volunteers to accomplish the goals and objectives of the community, the coordination of new products and services within the IEEE and working across IEEE organizational units.

•             Secures volunteers to serve as subject matter experts and project team members for all the initiative-associated projects. Monitors, coordinates, and supports selected volunteer activity for the initiative e.g. external events, publications, marketing, communication, etc.

•             Conducts independent research on Environmental Engineering that may be included in future EEI activities.  Publishes internal white papers and/or briefs on research results to the Environmental Engineering Technical Community volunteer leadership.

•             Run all key meetings necessary to assist in the development of the community and support the volunteer leadership.

Requirements

Qualifications - External Education and Experience:

•             Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent required; Advanced degree preferred

•             PMP Certification or demonstrated equivalence desired

Skills & Other Requirements:

•             Strong project management skills

•             Budgeting skills required, as well as a thorough understanding or willingness to train to in the IEEE systems

•             Ability to both develop and deliver presentations, face to face and virtually via WebEx

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•             Seasoned leadership skills

•             Diplomacy, tact, and influence in order to gain support for achieving the programs operational goals

•             Must be a technologically savvy worker with specific proficiency in Association Management Systems; Google environment including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Drive; Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
