Job Details

Technician in the Engineering Department (EN), Experimental Areas Group (EA), Contracts and Technical Section (CT).
 
Following an initial training period within the EN-EA Group, you will be working in the team responsible for the support and work coordination for experimental areas. You will take part in the design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, and modifications and adjustments of these facilities.
 
You will:
* Take part in the production, installation, operation and modifications of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices required for the LHC experiments, secondary beam lines and associated facilities;
* Address the needs of the Engineers and Physicists from the EA group, as well as from the technical teams from both the LHC Experiments and Accelerator sector;
* Assemble, prepare and maintain mechanical and electromechanical equipment and instruments; this includes machining work and production of prototypes;
* Participate in the worksite supervision on installations works in the experimental areas; this may involve electrical-, cabling, electromechanical construction/installation works.
* Provide technical assistance to colleagues in specialized fields like vacuum and detector gas operations;
 
The experience required for this post is:
* Experience in the field of electromechanical equipment construction and cabling.
* Experience of assembling and commissioning mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment.
* Proven ability to supervise construction work on-site and/or in an electromechanical or mechanical workshop/laboratory.
 
The technical competencies required for this post are:
* Mechanical construction, including electro-mechanical components.
* Cabling of assemblies or/and installations campaigns with experience in connector multi-channel connectors.
* Use of machine tools.
* Precision assembly and construction , including the use of assembly and mounting techniques.

Salary: Swiss Franc8513 - Swiss Franc10215 per month
