Job Description: The Software Systems Engineer (SSE), a member of the Systems Engineering organization, provides program-level oversight and integration for all software development activities and interfaces/integration between software development teams. Specific responsibilities include systems engineering support for flight (bus and payload), simulation, ground (deliverable), and test software. Includes translation of mission goals to software requirements, mapping to verification testing, and system-level validation. Coordinates SW integration at the Segment level and ensures that all cross-team SW interfaces are aligned and that all disconnects are resolved to ensure system closure. Also ensures HW to SW interfaces close by developing and enforcing software integration documents (HW/SW ICD, SW/SW ICD, etc). This individual will also oversee and support supplier software processes. The SSE will attend SW-related reviews at subcontractors and review the Subcontract Data requirement List (SDRL) submittals with SW content and provide approval. The SSE will also support spacecraft and testbed integration as well as investigation/resolution of hardware-software interface anomalies. Finally, the SSE manages the Command and Telemetry Database (CTDB) to include coordination and approval of changes to command, telemetry, data, and parameter definitions. If the skills support the task, the SSE may also be responsible for the development and management of data flow throughout the system, including data integrity analysis, and data throughput analysis
