Description: GTRI’s Applied Systems Laboratory is seeking a mid-level engineer with Java software development experience and at least 5 years of experience in reverse-engineering software to troubleshoot complex issues. The qualified applicant will become a member of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Software Directorate as a key component to support ongoing integration activities of the IAMD Battle Command System (IBCS) at the customer facility.

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Work with the IAMD Project Office and the Government Software Integration Laboratory (GSIL) to design test cases for verification of implemented problem reports/new functionality
  • Work with GSIL analysts to produce or identify identify supporting data
  • Analyze data collected from test runs to identify new issues
  • Represent IAMD SW Directorate in various GSIL working groups
  • Become the IAMD SW Directorate expert on the GSIL infrastructure and test tools

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is required;
  • At least five years of professional work experience in Software Engineering;
  • Familiarity with all phases of software lifecycle development including requirements baselining, code testing, and validation;
  • Ability to read and understand large object-oriented codebases;
  • The candidate must be self-motivated, possess leadership and communication skills, and be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment;
  • Knowledge of Wireshark, network communications protocols, and Data Distribution Service is also a plus;
  • An active SECRET clearance (or higher) is required.

Job Travel:

Little to no travel is expected.
