This position is to be the coded leader of the APRF systems group with special focus on the ESA family of programs. Candidate will have managerial duties for a team of direct reports in addition to technical duties. Leadership duties include day to day leadership tasks and responsibility for fostering the performance of a payload engineering team along with the coaching and career development of that team. The technical duties will include leading payload development and architecture tasks on the next phase of ESA development programs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills that have been used on a fast paced, decision oriented program. This leader will be responsible for ensuring right-sized systems engineering processes are used in all stages of the portfolio’s advanced development programs, for study phase to pre-flight hardware development

This position will be the Lead for the systems engineering team through the development of new and novel Phased Array payloads for Special Programs APRF group. The successful candidate will mentor mid-level and junior engineers and provide subject matter expertise in the area of systems engineering process as it applied to early technology development with a path to flight level rigor. Ideally, the candidate understands customer mission needs in support of business development activities and generation of future opportunities

Basic Qualifications
5 years of experience in a technical or other leadership role
Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams
Experience managing and leading complex technical activities
Experience developing and delivering space flight hardware
Exemplary communication skills to mobilize the workforce as well as elevate appropriate issue to senior management.
Must possess a flexible, collaborative work philosophy that is committed to achieving results
Technical, cost, and schedule management
Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
Must be comfortable giving formal presentations on complex data to peers, company management and customers
Knowledge of Special Programs customers and products

Desired skills
Experience in an L-coded role
Experience with proposal cost and technical volume development
Understanding of mission needs of SP customer
