Job Highlights

This individual will lead MITRE's engagement with the various stakeholder offices in the OSD including USD (R&E), USD (A&S), DOD CIO, CAPE, PEO DHMS, DARPA, ASD Nuclear/Chem/Bio, DISA, Office of Net Assessment, USD P, and others. They will develop close working relationships with OSD and DISA senior leaders and have significant interaction with the staff of these senior stakeholders. The goal is to become a trusted adviser to the leadership on major initiatives, policies, challenges and priorities. They are accountable for development and execution of OSD and DISA Portfolio, and strategy and sponsor engagement across this diverse portfolio. This individual in partnership with the OSD/DISA technical director will extensively collaborate with leadership of the other MITRE Portfolios, Program Divisions and Technical Centers to ensure that MITRE has an integrated set of portfolio strategies and unity of effort that will directly contribute to operational customer outcomes.

*Key Functions

The OSD/DISA Portfolio Director has full accountability for all aspects of MIITREs engagement with the OSD and DISA sponsor base and works to enable MITRE Officer engagement with the senior OSD/DISA stakeholder leadership team.  The Director establishes strategic direction based on the strategic priorities of DOD, leads the definition of the work program, and shapes the role and work to best achieve customer outcomes.

Provides leadership in the portfolio to identify major portfolio trends, thrusts, and issues; continually shaping the portfolio plan and strategy accordingly.

Prioritizes and coordinates effective allocation of STE resources in alignment with the strategy: 1) for the OSD Portfolio and 2) enterprise-wide as a member of the J&S leadership team.

Develops, maintains, and proactively manages customer, sponsor, and stakeholder engagement strategy and relationships at all levels required to effectively execute the OSD/DISA strategy.


Required Qualifications

Must have knowledge (experience preferable) with OSD/DISA leadership decision making and the challenges and pressures the OSD/DISA stakeholders face every day. Demonstrated ability to run a large complex endeavor from strategic, operational and financial perspective is required. This individual should have a demonstrated record of creating a positive working environment for an organization. The successful candidate must have personal expertise in thinking strategically and helping customers frame and

execute strategies successfully.


The nature of the OSD/DISA portfolio is that it intersects with numerous portfolios. The successful candidate must be excellent in their approach to partnering, collaboration, and cross portfolio coordination with a "One MITRE" mindset.
