Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Trident Navigation experienced Inertial Systems Test Engineer possessing critical skills in Trident Navigation specifically related to the integration and sustainment of Fiber Optic Gyro Navigation (FOGN) systems installed in the SSBN Navigation Subsystem.
Familiar with the development, electronic design and details of High-Precision Inertial Navigation technology and technical experience in FBM Navigation inertial programs in areas such as System Production, Refit and Shipyard Field Engineering activities, and SSBN Fleet support

Basic Qualifications
Detailed technical comprehension of the Navigation Subsystem as well as all coordinated interfaces associated with the Navigation Subsystem. Demonstrated ability to understand Navigation Subsystem operations and maintenance doctrine, electronic and mechanical drawings and schematics. Ability to understand Navigation Subsystem design, test documentation, and recognize nominal and abnormal inertial system level performance. Ability to develop procedures and provide technical training in areas specific to FOGN equipment integration, operation and maintenance. Ability to deploy on research ships and submarines for extended periods.
Strong personnel skills with the ability to motivate and cultivate a diverse, close knit and very experienced team. Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills

Desired skills
Hands-on working and system level troubleshooting experience with navigation equipment such as accelerometers, gyros, inertially stable platforms and hardware control loops. Familiar with FOGN Navigation, instrument evaluation, system calibrations, velocity damping, reset methodologies and component testing.
Familiar with system and program performance specifications and the ability to recognize and evaluate system level performance including calibrations, diagnostics, optical alignment, navigation functions and environmental factors that could contribute to system problems.
Experience in FOGN Inertial Navigation Systems program development especially the implementation and equipment integration at forward site trainers, test laboratories and SSBNs.
Ability to travel to both international and domestic sites to support FOGN inertial equipment installations at SSBN refit and shipyard sites
